Listening a song and trying to understand..

I want to dedicate this activity to my 6th grade primary students who love this song, so I think that more children could like it.

The activity consists of a fill in the blanks sheet with the lyric of the song.
You can download from here.

An idea to practise speaking and writing with young learners:

Reading one of the world's shortest stories from Augusto Monterroso I thought it would be a good beginning for an English class to practise speaking and writing with children.

When I awake the dinosaur was still there.

The idea is telling to the children this short story and make it longer all together, so the teacher will tell this story and each student has to tell something else, remember what their classmates have just told and to continue the story in the way they want. At the end we will have a very fun story, longer than in the beginning. To finish the activity they must remember the whole new story invented by the class and write it in their notebooks with a drawing.

Learning differents parts of the body:

I want to share with you a complete guide to teach this vocabulary to children:

This web page is really good to work this topic. You can use for example this memory game.

You can print different worksheets too.

And you can use this famous song to practise with them:

Just to show the body's vocabulary to our students, one of my classmates has a very good resource, this is the link.

And from another classmate a song to improve our body vocabulary here.

A new year and the months. Learn the months singing!

Now that we begin a new year, here you have a very easy song to learn the twelve months and the four seasons:

Where the wild things are, text and animated film

A very good story to tell to older students, maybe 4th, 5th, or 6th grade Primary students.

It is a good idea to work with them their listening and attention habilities: watching the video first and then try to complete the story.

It is a short story, not very difficult and really beautiful to work with children.

Here you have some resources to work with children after watching or reading this story:

Or you can make your own crossword in this link.

And some ideas to prepare a tutoring lesson plan about this book.

This pigs family is really lovable. Try to learn with them!!

With Peppa Pig you can watch some videos and practise English listening or play some games with the youngest students.

This web page has a very good quality. I hope you find it useful.

Learning colours, clothes, numbers and animals in a fun way:

With this game the youngest English learners will be able to learn a lot about colours, clothes, numbers and animals.
They can play in different teams and compete between them.

A good idea after this game is asking the children about their favourite colour or animal, so they can learn the question:
"What is your favourite...?"
